Revised Feed-in Tariff Rates for Solar PV From 1 April 2012

From 1 April 2012, the rates for domestic retrofit installations up to 4kW will be:

  • 21p per kWh if the property has an EPC Band D rating or above, or
  • 9p per kWh if the property cannot achieve EBC Band D rating.

Please remember that Feed-in Tariff payments are still:

  • Tax Free
  • Guaranteed for 25 Years
  • Linked to the Retail Price Index (RPI), and
  • Still provide an excellent return on your investment!

Please see the table below for revised rates for other sized solar photovoltaic installations:

Current Government Proposals under Consultation for Reduction in Feed-in Tariff from 1 July 2012

The Government have proposed further reduction in Feed-in Tariff rates from 1 July 2012.

Those who are already registered under the FIT scheme prior to this date will continue to receive the rate that was set at the time they registered for the scheme for the duration of the 25 year period.  For example, if you registered before 2 March 2012 you will receive the 43.3p/kWh rate.

The Government have proposed (still under consultation) that the FIT rates from 1 July 2012 will be between 16.5p/kWh - 13.6p/kWh for domestic retrofit properties.  The Government will base their decision upon the total installed capacity between 3 March and 30 April 2012.

Therefore, it is beneficial for those interested in installing Solar Photovoltaics to have their system installed and complete FIT registration prior to 30 June 2012.
